Obituary of Kathryn Genon Tinsley

Kathryn Genon Tinsley of Sarasota, FL passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the age of 86. She was born March 13, 1935 in Doniphan, MO to Willis and Edna (Arivett) Mitchell. 

Married Harold Tinsley October 20th of 1951 in St. Louis, MO.  They were happily married for 70 years.  They lived in St. Louis until retiring in Florida.

Kathryn was a devoted, loving mother of five children. 

She loved the beach and sunsets and watching professional basketball with her husband.  It brought her great joy when her family would come to visit.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Lois Ferrill Mitchell, Verna Mitchell (Haggard) and her brother Lorren Mitchell; daughter Rhonda Tinsley (Sprenke), and granddaughter Joyelle Sprenke (Wade). 

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband Harold; her daughters Harolyn Tinsley, Robyn (Steve) Kabbaz, Lisa (Scott) Murphy, and son James Tinsley; her grandchildren Daniel (Chris) Garrison, Christina Casciaro (Perdomo), Michael Tharp, Jason (Renee) Tinsley, Stephanie (Lucas) Hart, Andrea (Jon) Martin, Adam (Mary Kate Moore) Murphy, and Amanda Murphy as well as fourteen (14) great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

She will be remembered as a very compassionate woman who deeply loved her family. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. 

Kathryn will be laid to rest on March 15, 2022 at Sarasota National Cemetery.
