Obituary of Magdallene "Magda" F Bossis
Magdallene Bossis of Sarasota, Florida passed away peacefully on August 7, 2023 at the age of 83. She was born on December 19, 1939 in Piraeus, Greece and at the age of nine moved to New Rochelle, New York with her family. Magda met the love of her life, Nicholas Bossis, at a dance and enjoyed the beautiful life they built together until his passing in 2015. Together, they traveled the world, cruising to many countries across several continents and made countless memories over the years. Magda and Nick became Floridians in retirement and enjoyed every minute spent on the beach with their friends and family.
Magda cherished the time she spent with her family. She was a loving mother to her son Paul, who preceded her in death in 1987, and her daughter Terri. Magda and her daughter were best friends and shared a close bond. She absolutely adored her son-in-law, Jim. Being a grandmother was her greatest joy. She was a devoted Yiayia to her granddaughters, Stefanie and Lauren, who were the light of her life. She showed her love for her granddaughters by making them rice pudding and ravani, having tea parties, cheering them on at sporting events, and celebrating all their achievements. She was known as “Aunt Mag” by her nieces and nephews who she loved and cared for deeply. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-granddaughter. She showered her ‘grand-dogs’ with love and treats as they always brought the brightest smile to her face.
Magda truly had a gentle heart and treated everyone with kindness. She loved her family deeply and made friends everywhere she went. She was a strong Greek woman who fought hard against the battles she faced in life. Her family will miss her every day but find comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her husband, son, sister, brother, sister-in-law, and brother-in-law who she loved dearly.
“You were an angel in the shape of my mom. You got to see the person I have become. Spread your wings and I know that when God took you back he said ‘Hallelujah You're Home.’”
